The article analyzes the production of portraits in two marriage negotiations between the 15th and 16th centuries, the marriage between Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, with the Infanta D. Isabel of Portugal, and the negotiations between Henry VII, King of England, with Margaret of Austria. The study highlights the importance of portraits for diplomacy and the relationships established between diplomatic practices and the cultural scene of the period, marked by artistic development in different parts of Europe and by new aesthetic references
