Abstract

The objective of this article was to analyze the literary narrative of Rosemary’s Baby, published in 1967 by Ira Levin in the United States, to think about the relations between literature and religion. The book cover the change of Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse to the Bramford Building in New York, where they have contact with a Satanist group that made Rosemary the mother of Satan’s son. For the analysis were used the observations from Michel de Certeau (2006), Roger Chartier (2002) and Danièle Hervieu-Léger (2008), in order to apprehend contextually the religious positions affirmed in the practices and ideas of the characters of the narrative.
