NOTAS FOUCAULDIANAS SOBRE UM CASO DE PEDOFILIA

Abstract

Recently, American and European polices dismantled a gang of parents whose fetish was to trade one another pornographic pictures of their own children. This kind of case is evidently disgusting. But how can this repulse be explained? We tend to hypothesize that this feeling is a consequence of the interdiction of incest. However, based on the Foucauldian genealogy of modern family, I will make an attempt to object to this usual explanation. Firstly, I will argue the constitution of modern family is, for upper classes, a mechanism of differentiation from proletarian subjectivity and sexuality. Additionally, I will argue that the very basis of this system of differentiations collapses in virtue of the case analyzed in my essay. In fact, this collapse is the disturbing and disgusting aspect of the case.
