Abstract

Uprisings - this was the title of major sound chosen by Georges Didi-Huberman for their exhibition inaugurated in 2016 at the National Gallery Jeu de Paume in Paris. Since then, the exhibition has traveled to various places, first in Europe and then in the Americas, from Buenos Aires, São Paulo to Mexico City, and also to Montreal. On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition at the University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC) in Mexico City, in February 2018, a conference was organized around the theme of the uprisings. The present text, is an unfolding of the lecture given by Emmanuel Alloa on that occasion. The main objective of this text is to think about the relationship between the revolts and the images and what survives from it.
