Abstract

Repatriation refers to the transfer of cultural properties between countries in the face of a claim. The debate about the theme have been developed mainly from two perspectives: the cultural internationalism and cultural nationalism, discussed here by the Parthenon Marbles case, in dispute between Greece and England. Based on a case analysis by the bibliography about this topic, we seek to show how the divergences between such narratives determine the current impasses regarding the repatriation of cultural properties like these.
