DIEGO RIVERA ENTRE OS ROSACRUCES E MARX

Abstract

In this article I like to reflect about the tensions between spiritual sympathies and political activism in mexican painter Diego Riviera from his painting made in Paris, in 1913. “The woman at the well”. This research draws attention, because contrary to what is usually discussed by critics, Rivera draws mythic themes, especially the myth of the Feathered Serpent, long before the ‘20s, in his Parisian period. This paint had a busy life, was hidden under a layer of violet  ink on the back of another painted tells in 1915, by the same painter, “Landscape Zapatista”, and discovered in 1977.
