ROOFS OF GLASS IN TEMPLES OF PHOTOGRAPHY
THE PORTRAIT ON GLAZED STUDIO

In this this text, is developed a reflection about a period of the photography’s history in wich the advent of the photographic workshops with glass roofs were possible. It’s weighted how the occurrence of these places enabled the production of photographic pictures in large scale and as the few remants inform about the relational situation between the photographer and the costumer. To analyze the environment of these studios, are observed three copies, now transformed in Museum Houses: the studio of Carlos Relvas and of Vicents, both in Portugal, and the studio of Josef Seidel in Czech Republic. Lastly, the studio is defended as the place where, in XIX Century and early decades of XX, the demand for representation of the individual found the answer.
