Abstract

This article seeks to present the partial results of a larger research project developed by the Collection of Judgment Litigation Lisbon Patriarchate at the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora, specifically in the documentary fund that deals with the processes of perpetual divorce between parts taken forward in that judgment by women, in the process of breakdown of marital relations between the end of the eighteenth and nineteenth course. In this article a particular way try to show the similarities and differences between the processes of secularization of Brazilian and Portuguese companies, focusing discussions on the breaks of marital relations, known as perpetual divorce, carried out by women between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
